Abstract

Cavernous malformations are part of the wide variety of cerebral vascular pathologies. Most commonly, they occur in supratentorial areas of the brain and in a few cases they occur in infratentorial areas, for which the treatment of choice is microsurgery, with beneficial results for the patient and improvement of the clinical picture. The result will always depend greatly on the surgical technique and the expertise of the neurosurgeon.
Below, we report a clinical case of a young adult diagnosed with cavernous malformation with clinical evolution for 10 months who underwent surgery at the Eugenio Espejo Specialty Hospital in the neurosurgery service.
